I - Inspired by Mathematical Formulas

The philosophy of Shanghai Traffic Radio Station is "propaganda, guidance, service and entertainment". The station aims to maintain the city traffic order, enhance the traffic safety consciousness, facilitate the public travel and promote traffic construction in Shanghai. The station provides services mainly to moving people, broadcasting the road condition circularly and timely without interruption 24 hours a day. “Listening to traffic radio when going outside” has been the common idea of Shanghai citizens, especially the mass of moving crowds. In the process of design, one of the impressions on traffic is “driving”, which reminds me of the state of car tires during driving. And the philosophy of television and radio is to broadcast 24 hours without interruption. This reminds me of an infinite loop mathematical symbol “∞”. I just integrate these two ideas into one. In order to create the specificity of this circle design, I have studied the circle's basic concept, the circle's tangent line, the mathematical formula for the circle and triangle, and then conducted meticulous planning for the cutting of points, lines and surfaces utilized in the design. For example, the points on the line are based on the center of the circle or central point of the line. Generally, the cross angle between lines is 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°. And generally the triangle cut by lines is the equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle and right triangle. The following are my hand-drawn sketches of these concepts.
